Hey, do you struggle with Goals? Writing them, how to attain them or wondering what will help make it easier to get to your goals?
I can relate too so today I am going to give you some tips to help with that.
This comes from the book “Design your BEST YEAR Ever” by Darren Hardy who is the CEO of Success Magazine.
So again – if you struggle with how to write goals, how to attain them, what makes a “good goal”, etc. then this will help you.
SMART Goals – what are those? This is an acronym to help you define and write down a goal that you can then start the process to attain.
Here is all you have to remember when making and writing your goals down. The real work begins after that, but it will be worth it.
Specific – a goal has to be specific and cannot be an estimate or a generalization. For example, you cannot say I want to make a lot of money or I want to lose a lot of weight. Be specific – I want to make $10,000 per month or I want to lose 10 pounds.
Measurable – this means you have to add some details. For example, I will walk 5 miles per day to help lose the 10 pounds or I will recruit 5 people and then help them recruit 5 people each to get me to the $10,000 per month.
Attainable – the goal has to be “doable”. You cannot say I am going to lose 100 pounds in 30 days or I am going to make $100,000 in 30 days. Although someone may prove me wrong on both of these, usually they are not doable by the average person or even the non-average person.
Realistic – let’s get “real” when making your goals. What are you going to do to get you to your goals – you can’t just “wish” it to happen. What sacrifices in time, money, exercise, etc. are you going to make in your daily routine to get you working towards your goal? If you want to lose 10 pounds in 30 days, then you will have to eat healthier, exercise and manage your portion sizes. If you want to get to the next Level in your Network Marketing business, then you will have to do more marketing to both your “warm & cold markets” along with making a commitment to do that daily.
Time-sensitive – a goal has to have a completion date attached to it such as “I will lose 10 pounds in 30 days” or I will make $10,000 in 3 months in my Internet marketing business.
You should also have monthly, half-year, yearly and then 5 and 10 year goals too.
So there you go if you Struggle with Goals, you should now have what you need to get the goals written down and then make the commitment emotionally, physically and mentally to not stop until you hit those goals.
If you do not have goals written down, then now is the time to start – “Because you cannot hit a target that you cannot see” – Zig Ziglar.
I hope you got some value from this and please share with a friend if you did, since your friend may need the help more than you do.
